Market Street Men of Steel – Cantilever Scaffold

The new owners of 1101 Market St. wanted to make some changes to the entryway and needed to give crews access to a hard to reach area. This section is literally cut into the entrance to the Aramark Tower (now the Jefferson Center) four stories up. It’s not fancy but this 15’ high, frame scaffold, rolling tower with a stair tower access instead of the usual hook on ladder had to be erected with the utmost care. Our scaffold was erected to help get Chinese researchers and their equipment up to the top of this 500-year-old, hand carved ceiling that was originally installed over a Buddhist altar from the Ming dynasty. First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, built in 1872 (at 21st & Walnut), needed a complete exterior renovation and the good people at Mara were just the ones to git ‘er done.
