Scaffolding the new pedestrian bridge at the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

As part of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia expansion project a very cool looking pedestrian bridge was built to allow easy access from the main hospital to the new Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care.  Crews needed to get to the exterior of the bridge at the corner of Civic Center Blvd and E. Service Drive in downtown Philly.  You have to admit that this is one great looking building. St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children – Dual purpose scaffold bridge and canopy

When St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia needed to construct a pedestrian bridge from their new building to their existing parking garage – they called Superior Scaffold. We erected a scaffold bridge that had to serve two purposes, one, to get crews beneath the new pedestrian bridge so they could finish construction – without stopping traffic below, and two, to get pedestrians safely across the street from the parking garage to the main hospital. Passariellos Pizzaria Italian Eatery – Update in Moorestown, NJ

I promised to give you guys an update to the post we did a few months back. This is actually a temporary kitchen built on top of a giant platform that we erected out back of the Passariello's restaurant. This was a big year for Superior Scaffold!  We made it to the Final 3 for the "Access Projects of the Year - Scaffolding" award at the Access, Lift & Handlers conference & awards ceremony at the Biltmore Hotel in Miami. Iconic PNB letters come down in Philadelphia via helicopter

Sunday was a big day in downtown Philadelphia as the skyline was forever changed.  The giant PNB letters that adorned the top of the majestic, 28 story, Philadelphia National Bank building for almost a half a century were brought down via helicopter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzqgEjetnj8 This isn't the first time crews tried to get the 16' tall, 3000 lb letters down.  They attempted it back in August but were only able to remove 3 letters in a four hour span.  This time they removed all of the remaining 9 letters in just around 45 minutes.  The helicopter landed the letters onto waiting trucks just...

Chichester High School in Boothwyn, PA gets a new temporary press box. That’s right. You heard it right here in the Superior Sentinel. Chichester’s old press box is being replaced. The school that boasts the Eagles football team needed a way to broadcast their home games. The call went out to Superior Scaffold to help them build a temporary structure to get them through the season until a new permanent press box could be built. Shoring Montgomery Mall (North Wales, PA) for an escalator drop

Not only was Superior Scaffold called in to provide shoring while new support columns were added - but then we had to shore up the bar joists and steel beams for 150 feet so crews could roll a 10,000 pound escalator into place on the floor above.  Pretty darn cool!  You can see to the left in this photo where crews cut a hole in the flooring for the new escalator. Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino cashes in with Superior Scaffold

Photos courtesy of Karl Kalbach. Bally’s Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, turned to Superior Scaffold to get painting crews up to the high end of one of their buildings on the boardwalk. Crews needed to get all the way to the top of the building above world famous Harry's Oyster Bar and Sea Food restaurant to finish painting and refinishing, but their high reach couldn’t get them there. Superior erected a system scaffold around and in between the buildings and over the roof and since crews couldn’t tie in anywhere on the building, diagonal bracing was used throughout to keep everything leaning...
