Clemens Construction was demoing the building next door and when L&I (Licenses and Inspections) went out to examine they spotted a damaged parapet on the building next door.

The canopy went up immediately to protect pedestrians and traffic below. The four story scaffolding went up 2 days later. Inspectors were not in any hurry to get to the façade so they gave us a few extra days to erect the scaffold.

One of the cool things about this job is that this canopy is a custom size: 17’ tall and 50’ long. It was designed using system scaffold so the owner could keep his signage and awning up during the construction process. The other unique item of note is that the 4 decks of scaffold sit directly on top of the overhead protection. It also has debris netting all the way around for added protection.
