In a world where even the smallest details get blow up on the interwebs it seems harder and harder to get someone’s attention or interest. But this was one of those cool jobs that seemed much less attention-getting from the outset but further digging proved just how creative our designers and crew had to be.

What do you see when you look the picture of the debris chute sticking out from the side of the building? A plain debris chute?  Look again.

It’s a 200 foot high debris chute with access on ALL 20 floors! And in order to have a hopper on each level Superior Scaffold needed to encase the chute in a system scaffold structure that would support the weight of the debris system. So the actual chute is supported by the system scaffold and not just dangling off of the roof.

And then as an added precaution we encased the entire unit with debris netting to keep the dust and detritus contained.

And there’s even more. More, you say?  Yes, unbelievable.  Superior also designed an ingenious loading platform at the back of the building for safe access to the hoist and all of the material.

It provided overhead protection as well as a safe place for crews to get on and off of the man material hoist.
