A house of many colors… Declaration (Graff) House, Jefferson House Scaffolding
This is the house where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, that all important document that would birth a nation. Jefferson rented several rooms at the home of Jacob Graff, Jr, a local bricklayer - thus, the one of many names for this house. And what’s crazy is that it’s a reproduction! The original structure was built in 1775 and then torn down at some point. This red-brick house at Seventh and Market streets was reconstructed in 1975. Superior Scaffold was called in to provide scaffold support and overhead protection so crews could repaint and repair all of the woodwork...
