When the Under Armour corporation needed protection – who did they call?  Yup, Superior Scaffold.

The company that makes heat protection and sun protection sport and fitness wear called Superior to erect an overhead protection system or canopy or sidewalk shed, whatever you’d like to call it, at their new store in Center City at 1529 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA.  And we gladly obliged.  Hey, they protect us everyday with our Superior Scaffold logo shirts so it was the least we could do for them.

This was kind of unique too, in that we erected our canopy with one leg sitting on top of Jersey barriers (a modular concrete or plastic barrier employed to separate lanes of traffic).  And this overhead protection system actually sits in the street.

We had a second set of Jersey barriers on the inside that helped protect and guide pedestrians around the construction that was going on behind the fence and netting in front of the building.  Those provided extra protection from any debris that might have been kicked up during the process.  It’s a system scaffold using steel beams for support and has fencing and netting, lights,  as well as a corrugated roof and our lovely yellow warning banners.

And today’s musical number is something I have been craving…(yes, it goes against our marketing strategy of YOU calling US…but it’s just a song). From the band Sugarloaf.  They were named after a mountain outside of Boulder, Colorado.  Such a lovely place.  I’ll move there one day.
