Construction Safety Professional

Superior Scaffold is looking for a recent graduate to be a full time Construction Safety Professional to work with and support the safety director, sales team, and company mission and directive.

Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Construction Safety Oriented/HSE Representative to support our established and growing scaffold business in the tri-state area.

As part of our team, you will provide HSE support and leadership for hundreds of diverse projects. You will be directly supporting the Safety Director, and indirectly supporting the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Sales Estimator to lead HSE excellence and deliver a project that ensures no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client’s business continuity.

You will be our safety point of contact on job sites, doing onsite inspections, interacting with their safety department, working with clients and employees.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Fire Safety or other related majors with HSE and/or a risk mitigation background degree preferred but not required.
  • An internship in construction or work in the construction industry (preferred but not required) which provides context for the application of HSE principles and requirements.
  • Fluent use of Microsoft Products including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Ability to learn and maintain (customer) vetting programs ISN, Highwire, Avetta, etc
  • Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
  • Good communication skills and an ability to act in self-directed manner when in familiar “territory”
  • Working knowledge in applicable regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state and local agencies requirements
  • (prefer but not required) A minimum of 3 years of construction safety, HSE experience and in managing/supporting subcontract safe work
  • (prefer but not required)A professional HSE Certification (BCSP or other) in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field
  • Experience with construction projects

Responsibilities:

  • As part of our team, you will provide construction safety support and leadership to all of our scaffold clients as well as our employee teams.
  • You will be our safety point of contact on job sites, doing onsite inspections, interacting with their safety department, working with clients and employees.
  • You will be directly supporting Superior’s Safety Director and Sales Estimator, and indirectly supporting the customer’s Project Manager andConstruction Manager, to lead Construction Safety/HSE excellence and deliver a project ensuring no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client’s business continuity.
  • Assist the Safety Director with vetting software, monitoring employee compliance, going to job walks, assist with safety trainings, maintain/construct company and employee safety databases
  • We’ll ask you to support the vision and strategic plans of the company and safety department as well as provide overall leadership to the team and client project.
  • We’ll rely on you to take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and for driving strategies and performance while supporting continuous improvement.
  • You’ll own and maintain open communication with the Safety Director, PM, GC, Sales Team and other members to coach and provide technical resources and guidance to ensure alignment with client and Superior HSE expectations.
  • You will support the incident investigation and reporting process, including support of subcontractors in the collection and submission of relevant information to facilitate an effective root cause analysis.
  • You’ll assist in the administration/implementation of Superior project specific HSE plan and support subcontractors in hazard assessments and implementation of their own plans, as well as participate as required in meetings or other forums relevant to project success.
  • The travel anticipated with this role will be to and from the project sites in the tri-state area. Gas and tolls will be paid for by the company.

Construction Elevator Mechanic

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Construction Elevator Mechanic to support our established and growing motorized scaffold business in the tri-state area.

As part of our team, you will provide mechanical and technical support to the motorized division of our scaffold company on hundreds of diverse projects. You will be directly supporting the PM, Sales Estimator, road super and safety director, to make sure our elevators, hoists and access equipment are running to specifications on job sites and in the shop.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and inspect our fleet of construction elevators, hoists and other overhead lifting equipment to ensure equipment is compliant with manufacturers, OSHA, and ASME Standards.
  • Interface with customers/clients to create service and inspection programs and ensure full customer satisfaction in their execution
  • Visit job sites as needed to keep equipment and jobs running smoothly
  • Be able to communicate effectively with customers, Superior Scaffold management, vendors and safety team for evaluations, repairs and updates.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience with electrical control circuits for three phase and single phase power
  • Strong experience regarding equipment modifications, including VFD retrofits, radio remote installs, motor and gear replacements, hydraulic to electrical braking retrofits, and bar to festoon conversions
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical equipment
  • Mechanical gearing knowledge
  • Experience in solid state / magnetic motor control AC/DC
  • 3+ years of experience performing the listed skills and knowledge on similar type equipment
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
  • Must pass drug and background check
  • Must be comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights
  • Some heavy lifting will be required
  • Travel to job sites in the tri-state area

Truck Driver Class A or B CDL

Driving equipment to and from our shop in Bensalem, PA to some of the coolest job sites around PA, NJ and DE.  We Rock – so should you!

Scaffold experience preferred but not necessary

Moffet experience preferred

Must be able to count delivery products to ensure complete returns

Must pass drug test and have clean driving record
