Transport Platform at Broad and Walnut, University of the Arts

This is one of those serendipitous situations where everything just falls into place. Our estimator, Tony P, was talking to C. Erickson & Sons about a job and they asked if we had an elevator, like a Buck Hoist, for their project at Broad and Walnut. They needed a way to get men and material in and out without using the interior elevators.

“Well, actually we have something better,” said Superior’s Tony P. “We’ve got a TP-2500 transport platform that will let you bring personnel and material up and down without the need of a professional operator. It’s perfect for this type of multipurpose project. The rental is less than an elevator and it’s easier to install.”

He explained how it would work, how much time and money it would save them and just like that, it was done. Up it went at 211 S. Broad St., in Center City.

The car on the platform itself has a modular design that allows it to be adapted to customer’s needs with a variety of car sizes and Erickson chose the largest configuration with almost 13 feet in length and the ability to hold roughly 3300 lbs of material or up to 7 people. It also has three access doors, one in the center and one on either end. The 8’ long version of this platform can carry over 5,000 lbs.
