“Meet me tonight in Atlantic City” – Resorts Casino Renovation

To quote Bruce Springsteen from the song, Atlantic City, “Everything dies, baby, that’s a fact.  Maybe everything that dies someday comes back.” Not that Resorts Casino has died but the building is coming back, and in a big way. Yes, I’m gong to reach with a few parallels from the song to our job so hold onto your shorts.  To hear the song - scroll to the bottom or (click here). I’m just pointing out that like our young couple in the song looking to rebuild in Atlantic City - we too are from Philadelphia coming to Resorts Casino to help revitalize...

Scaffolding the massive front desk at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City

Superior Scaffold was proud to take part in the renovation of the 50 foot long front desk at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.  It was a great opportunity to provide a unique scaffolding platform for a renowned California artist to complete his work.  It's all part of the casinos $13 million revitalization. The artist, who will remain anonymous, was installing a series of delicate glass pieces behind the new front desk and we had to provide enough of a working platform to get the job done.  This job was done in two phases – this is the...

Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino cashes in with Superior Scaffold

Photos courtesy of Karl Kalbach. Bally’s Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, turned to Superior Scaffold to get painting crews up to the high end of one of their buildings on the boardwalk. Crews needed to get all the way to the top of the building above world famous Harry's Oyster Bar and Sea Food restaurant to finish painting and refinishing, but their high reach couldn’t get them there. Superior erected a system scaffold around and in between the buildings and over the roof and since crews couldn’t tie in anywhere on the building, diagonal bracing was used throughout to keep everything leaning...

Superior Scaffold hangs a whopper of a job at Seneca Niagara Casino, Niagara Falls, NY

This is a monstor of a job.  We promised some photos and since we, at Superior Scaffold, keep our promises - here they are.   It's hard to believe that this all hangs 40 feet ABOVE the entire gaming room floor while people are hustling and bustling about underneath. They sit above the interior that is the size of 2 full length football fields.     These wings or fingers are 300 and 400 feet long!     What this project entails is getting crews up underneath the ceiling while the casino remains open for business as usual so they can get the...

Cool Technology X-Ray for a facade renovation at the Golden Nugget Hotel Casino! Why?

Now I'll be honest with you.  I'm a sucker for cool technologies being used in innovative ways (just see my previous blog entry about the hanging scaffold system).  But when I learned what Superior Scaffold had to go through to get their giant mast climbers up to do the renovation work, I had to blog about it. Did you  know that they actually had to X-Ray the cement on the side of the building to locate floor slab tie locations?  Yep.  And after having it explained to me it makes total sense.  You see the tall (dual) masts for the Mast...
