Back to school and back to winning championships!  It was the Wildcat men’s basketball program that got most of the glory for winning the 2016 NCAA Championship but this time it’s the three-peat BIG EAST champion Wildcat women who are looking for their fourth consecutive swimming and diving championship in 2017.  That’s quite a feat!  Coach Rick Simpson and his team deserve a hand!

And Superior Scaffold wanted to do its part to lend a hand.  We were called in to provide access to the cieling of the swimming arena so new mechanicals and HVAC could be installed.  We erected three work platforms from the bottom of the pool to the ceiling.  We’ve done this several times now.  You can read about the other jobs here.

Villanova University is dedicated to their athletic program and the facilities that house them.  Devine Brothers, Inc. provided the HVAC and mechanical upgrades to the make the venue not only look fantastic but properly ventilated and working like new.

In order to get crews access to the critical areas we installed 3 scaffold towers with work decks in various locations in the pool.  All of the towers were built from the finest steel system scaffold, culled in specialty mills.  They were placed and guided into position with the skill and finesse only our Superior scaffolders posses.

And then each was topped off with steel plank to give crews a super sturdy and safe work area.  Trust me.  If they don’t feel safe and secure “up-air”, they will let us know.  So we make sure to build ‘em right.

Each tower had to sit on the bottom of the swimming pool and if you look at the photo you will see that the pool is sloped into the deep end.  The cool part is that we used swivel jacks to compensate for the angle or slope of the pool.

Crews got up, installed, upgraded, rocked the house, danced around, painted, and then retreated leaving one super clean, optimally functioning facility for the Wildcats to train in.
