Princeton University, Firestone Library

Princeton University Firestone Library Superior Scaffold was selected to help in the renovation of Princeton's Prestigious Firestone library because of its long history working with historic buildings on the campus. We were one of the few companies there throughout the entire process. Driscoll asked us to design a 90' high, totally enclosed negative pressure wrapped, systems scaffold tower for the front of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, we said "No problem". Then they told us the scaffolding had to be completely free standing (to allow the installation of a continuous glass panel system)! So Superior's engineers designed a 90'high scaffold with 2 attached backup towers (widening and stabilizing the base) which tied only to a roof system of concrete weights. The system was rated to handle high wind loads and provided a safe work environment with a minimum of disruption...

Superior's intricate design allowed them to renovate this historic landmark without compromising it's magnificent architectural integrity. The renovation was so successful that the project team won the 2006 American Institute of Architects...
