Penn Presbyterian Medical Center – New 178,000 square foot advanced care pavilion

Penn Medicine began construction on their new 178,000 square foot advanced care pavilion (Powelton Avenue and N. 38 Street) and called swing stage specialist Bob Sarkisian at Superior Scaffold to provide the suspended scaffold necessary to get the facade work done. I love it when I can detail a unique job and this was a perfect example. Superior Scaffold was called into the Kaiserman JCC to help shore up the ceiling joists so crews could repair the support brackets up against wall. There were a couple of challenges – the first being that the scissor lift had to get in behind the scaffolding so crews could get to the brackets for the repairs. As Louis Prima once sang, “Swing, swing, swing” – oh wait, close… “Sing, Sing, Sing – (with a swing)” so we just added the W. Sounds better this way. But that’s just what Superior Scaffold did on the third phase of this project. (See part 1 – and part 2). The former Trump Marina hotel and casino, in Atlantic City has been purchased by Landry's Inc., an international gaming and restaurant operator and is being rebranded with the Golden Nugget name. Superior Scaffold has been brought in as part of the $100 Million renovation to help restore the facade with an EIFS (Exterior Insulated Finishing System), restoration of the 90' high Crystal and 220' high Bay Towers of the Golden Nugget.
