It's always great to see your work in a prestigious industry magazine but it's even better when it's on the cover! Thanks to everyone at SA Magazine for their hard work and dedication to the industry and for putting Superior Scaffold out front. We have been all over the exterior of the Firestone Library, on the Princeton campus, doing renovations so this time I thought I’d take you inside. Just like our work on the outside, Superior Scaffold was brought in by GC, Massimino Building Corp. to give access to the entire ceiling area at the entrance of the library. Crews needed to demo the old ceiling to replace and upgrade ductwork directly above the entryway and lobby. The sister skyscraper to Harnwell and Harrison House is getting a much needed facelift after forty years of weathering the elements. (You can read all about the Harwell renovation job we did here last year on our blog.) This uniquely shaped building at 3901 Locust Walk is a 25-story apartment complex that houses roughly 820 residents and is part of the university’s student housing. We normally talk about building a loading/work platform or a debris chute but not a combo loading platform and debris chute in one. Well here it is - a combo platform at CSC (Corporate Service Company) in Wilmington, DE. Superior Scaffold is proud to have an article in the new Construction Today Magazine about our work with Vibration Mitigation at the Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.In a nutshell, the article details how Superior Scaffold was called in to provide access to help dismantle two giant, 16 foot tall, 14th/15th century Chinese Buddhist murals in preparation for the demolition of the building right next door. Superior Scaffold is providing the shoring for this massive 3 story renovation of the Sears store at the Willow Grove Park Mall. This enormous remodel is being done to open up the store, change the current layout and split it into two separate businesses. But in order to do so they must move escalators, elevators and staircases. And because they have to cut through the concrete slabs on all 3 levels they are also having to beef up and add new structural steel, new footers and support columns to carry the weight.
