This office building between Rittenhouse Square and the new Comcast tower at 18th and Market is getting some window work done.Superior Scaffold provided the overhead protection system that runs down 18th and Market Street side of the building. It’s a beautiful creation of system scaffold, steel and aluminum beams, topped with debris panels. When the good folks at Princeton University decided to add a new elevator to Dodge Hall, and had to remove an entire interior support wall to install it, they called Superior Scaffold to shore up the entire inside of the building. Dodge is one part of Murray-Dodge Hall and was constructed in 1900. The two buildings are joined by a cloister. Not a term you hear much anymore - cloister. I wanted to show this job because it’s very important to see why we erect overhead protection systems.Our emergency services team was called out to install this canopy around the entire perimeter of the building. Engineers and inspectors had seen that the façade was actually pulling away from the structure and wanted this sidewalk shed put into place while they booked crews for the repair work.It’s a good thing they called us. Because a few days after we installed it, there was a storm with pretty high winds and it actually blew sections of the façade off of the building...

This is certainly a first for us in our 65 year history. We’ve erected scaffold just about everywhere and to all kinds of timetables. 17th & Locust Overhead protection and Suspended Scaffold

Here is a very tall canopy that Superior Scaffold provided for the restoration project at 17th & Locust on the back side of the Radisson Blu Plaza Warwick Hotel. Now that’s a mouthful… Whew…And not only did we erect the overhead protection but we also provided Joseph Dugan the swing stages necessary to complete the total restoration of the exterior.I love it when we can show just a few shots of our crew assembling the job so you can see just want goes into a system canopy like this one.I will get shots of the canopy traveling all the way...
