2 Scaffold Trolley systems at CHOP Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care
Superior Scaffold designed two scaffold trolley systems to help D.M. Sabia place giant stones on the side of the facade for the CHOP Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care.
For this particular location, on Health Science Dr., it helped in the speedy, yet safe, movement of large stones up and over the garages in the back – from one end of the building to the other. Using a hoist to lift the stones up and scaffold beams to trolley the hoist, and the stone, down the line and into place, D.M. Sabia was able to save time and money positioning these giant pieces onto the facade.
This particular monorail, or trolley system was 200’ long X 25’ high and had a monorail beam running the entire length. And the second trolley system on E. Service Dr., was 90’ long.
Superior’s resident scaffold genius, (or madman – as some would say) Bob Sarkisian, devised this system and it worked flawlessly.

In the end, the client was happy, the GC was happy, CHOP was happy, and even a normally grouchy “King of Swing” was happy – if only for a few minutes.
