Read MoreThe Metropolitan Opera House or Met located at 858 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia (yes, Philly has a Metropolitan – not just NY) is undergoing a $56 Million restoration as a new Live Nation concert venue. The beautiful building has been sitting vacant for years. The 39,200-square foot theater was built in 1908 by Oscar Hammerstein I and called the Philadelphia Opera House. When it first opened in it was home to the Philadelphia Opera Company and sat some 4000 people as the largest venue of its kind in the world. In 1910 Hammerstein sold it to the Metropolitan Opera of New...

Orange St, are getting high end amenities such as 12,000 square feet of retail space, a 511 space parking garage, demonstration kitchens and dog-washing stations in each unit. The Residences also will feature an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and screening room. It’s all in the plan to create change in the struggling...
Read MoreThese are the kind of jobs that intrigue me. It’s not huge but it’s very cool and was designed for a unique purpose. Superior Scaffold was brought in to help Philly D&M solve a problem. They needed more room to fly pre-fabricated wall panels up with a crane and then land them somewhere so there was enough room to lean them over and pull them inside onto the floor where they could be placed. We designed a 23’ X 12’ cantilever landing deck that protruded out of the seventh floor giving crews just the extra room they needed to maneuver the large...
Read More5 stories of system scaffold. Odd shapes and customized layouts on every elevation. Giant dance floor at the top. One incredible job! With some jobs it’s better just to let the pictures do the talking and this is certainly one of them! And as of this month Kennedy Hospital will be known as Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital as part of a merger between Jefferson Health and Kennedy Health. [ngg_images source="galleries"...
Read MoreBack to school and back to winning championships! It was the Wildcat men’s basketball program that got most of the glory for winning the 2016 NCAA Championship but this time it’s the three-peat BIG EAST champion Wildcat women who are looking for their fourth consecutive swimming and diving championship in 2017. That’s quite a feat! Coach Rick Simpson and his team deserve a hand! And Superior Scaffold wanted to do its part to lend a hand. We were called in to provide access to the cieling of the swimming arena so new mechanicals and HVAC could be installed. We erected three...
Read MoreTo quote Bruce Springsteen from the song, Atlantic City, “Everything dies, baby, that’s a fact. Maybe everything that dies someday comes back.” Not that Resorts Casino has died but the building is coming back, and in a big way. Yes, I’m gong to reach with a few parallels from the song to our job so hold onto your shorts. To hear the song - scroll to the bottom or (click here). I’m just pointing out that like our young couple in the song looking to rebuild in Atlantic City - we too are from Philadelphia coming to Resorts Casino to help revitalize...
Read MoreSEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) wanted to paint the structural steel beams and panels on the trestle that carries the trolley over Crum Creek at Smedely Park in Springfield, PA. Painters were only able to reach a portion of the exterior using a high-reach so they called Superior Scaffold to install a hanging bridge platform to give crews complete access to the exterior and interior of the trestle. Superior’s crew clamped spreaders onto the flange of the steel beams on the trestle and then hung trees from them and then decked it in using steel plank. I love these kinds of jobs! ...
Read MoreSuperior Scaffold installed a 200 foot long walkway/loading dock with overhead protection right next to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology building. It is adjacent to the massive hole where the old Penn Tower used to sit. It serves a dual purpose; giving access to the loading docks of the museum and also providing a way in to the new structure coming out of the ground. We erected a bridge column canopy or overhead protection system. The GC laid down the pilings and structural steel foundation for us to build upon. We put our aluminum beams down and then decked...
