The Friendship Gate (Chinatown)
10th & Arch St., Philadelphia, PA
Superior Scaffold was chosen to help with the extensive renovation. The giant Friendship Gate is the only authentic gate in the United States built by Chinese artisans. In 1983 the gate was made in Tianjin, China and shipped to Philadelphia. Wear and tear on the gate has dulled its original luster. Artisans from China are giving this amazing design from the “Ching Dynasty” a complete make over.
Scaffold Highlights:
Superior used 14' Aluminum trusses to span Arch Street. Scaffold allows artisans to touch all parts of the arch. Superior used water filled Jersey Barriers to safeguard the scaffold against traffic.
