Weathering the Storm. Scaffolding 600 N. Campus Dr., Rowan University
This giant facade restoration and coping replacement job at 600 N. Campus Dr at Rowan University weathered the storm and came out looking new again. What do I mean by that? It was the end of winter and for some strange reason we got an inordinate amount of rain making parts of erecting this job challenging but as you can see from the photos our guys completed the task and it looks fantastic.
Because of the size and shape of the building we scaffolded it, using system scaffold, in three phases. We started on one end and then worked our way around the building as the masonry crews caught up.
MPG (Masonry Preservation Group) did an awesome job. They used a crane to remove the exterior pieces and label them to put them back exactly where they should go.
Our system scaffold was built along the entire facade to get crews close enough to remove, attach, label and lift to the ground, pieces that covered the exterior of the building.
And then while there, they worked the underlying face to seal and make sure no water would get in. And then like a giant puzzle, they put it all back together again, cleaning, sealing, and repointing everything.
This was a difficult build and one that had a super tight turn-a-round and we delivered even with the torrential rains.
Superior Scaffold crews also had to erect intricate scaffolding on the roof.
We had several stair towers so give restoration crews complete access to every floor and the coping.
There were several track hoists to help get material up to our guys while erecting this giant scaffold.
This is one of those jobs where we can let the pictures do some of the talking. Just have a look.
We are proud to have helped Rowan University and MPG on this prestigious restoration.
If you need scaffold or access for a giant project like this or even a small job call Tony P today at (215) 743-2200 or visit www.superiorscaffold.com for more information.
And since the sky didn’t want to cooperate during the build, we have Bruce Hornsby and the Range with Mandolin Rain and my personal choice, SRV with Couldn’t Stand the Weather – you pick. Enjoy.
