Superior Scaffold was called in to build a one-of-kind super structure and all-around awesome cantilever scaffold at the helipad for the emergency department at Einstein Hospital.

This baby was getting the complete makeover treatment from new undergarments, hair style and a set of fabulous new clothes so she could wow the world once again with her functional beauty.

What that means is that Superior worked with Construction Manager, Target Building, to shore up the underside while they replaced and repaired the structural steel underneath and then put on a brand-new deck and coating system so this helipad functions as well as she looks.

The new helipad will enable air ambulance helicopters to quickly transport patients with critical medical needs to and from the hospital.

There were a couple of difficult areas to this build.

One, we required a crane to lift our material onto to the roof.

And two, our scaffold master stylists had to safely erect this undercarriage while it hung a good 10 feet out over the side of the building!

These cantilever jobs are always a challenge but look pretty cool from underneath.

Target had a drone shoot some footage of the build. It’s pretty cool.

In the end, the job went off without a hitch and Einstein Medical Center has a like-new helipad to carry on saving lives well into the future. Thanks to Target Building for bringing us along for the ride.
