Superior Scaffold is providing the shoring for this massive 3 story renovation of the Sears store at the Willow Grove Park Mall. This enormous remodel is being done to open up the store, change the current layout and split it into two separate businesses. But in order to do so they must move escalators, elevators and staircases. And because they have to cut through the concrete slabs on all 3 levels they are also having to beef up and add new structural steel, new footers and support columns to carry the weight. Crews were renovating the Alison Building, in Rittenhouse Square, and discovered a piece of the parapet was falling off. The building was built in 1924 and is being revamped for 19 super high-end luxury apartments. Superior Scaffold got the call Friday afternoon and had a crew on the scene within hours. The decision was made to install a 40’ long, double-wide canopy (sidewalk overhead protection system) the next day. A 1st Place win for the Superior Scaffold team at the Scaffold and Access Industry Association annual convention.A big shout out to the best scaffold building crew on the east coast for blazing a superfast time of 43 minutes 59 seconds, up, down and racked for a system scaffold in the ballroom at the Loews Philadelphia. The final tally was 133 points for our team.
