Back to school and back to winning championships! It was the Wildcat men’s basketball program that got most of the glory for winning the 2016 NCAA Championship but this time it’s the three-peat BIG EAST champion Wildcat women who are looking for their fourth consecutive swimming and diving championship in 2017. Just when you think it’s too hot to go outside head over to Philadelphia Zoo for some frozen fun and experience a magical snow destination--WINTER. Tube down Snow Leopard Slope, a 120-foot-long, 20-foot-high, snow-covered incline built by Superior Scaffold. Make snow angels or toss a snowball or two in Snow Zone, a free-play area for all ages. Or head into Polar Bear Pavilion designed specifically for little snow tots Inside, kids can sled down a smaller version of the large ramp, make snow castles and play in the snow. Hanging bridge platform, Smedley Park trestle, Springfield, PA

SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) wanted to paint the structural steel beams and panels on the trestle that carries the trolley over Crum Creek at Smedely Park in Springfield, PA. Painters were only able to reach a portion of the exterior using a high-reach so they called Superior Scaffold to install a hanging bridge platform to give crews complete access to the exterior and interior of the trestle. Superior’s crew clamped spreaders onto the flange of the steel beams on the trestle and then hung trees from them and then decked it in using steel plank. I love these kinds of jobs! ...

The Forrest Theater is a beautiful, classic, playhouse built in 1928 and located at 1114 Walnut Street in the Center City area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Built at a cost of $2,000,000 it was one of architect Herbert J. Krapps more elaborate theaters. The interior is intricately decorated with gilt detailing (silver gilded with gold) and silk fabrics. And that’s exactly why Superior Scaffold was brought in. We provided the painting and restoration crews access to the entire perimeter of the theater, including the walls, ceiling and all surfaces, so they could restore it to it's former glory. Superior Scaffold installed a 580 foot long work deck or platform on both sides of the barrel shaped Reading Terminal Market (RTM) to give crews access to replace the roof. The platform is 6 feet wide by 8 feet high by 580 feet long and allows crews to roll their equipment and material from the mast climber at one end to their location anywhere along building. Superior Scaffold was called upon once again to Bryn Mawr College. This time we are providing restoration crews access to the facade of the venerable M. Carey Thomas Library. Known as The Thomas Great Hall, this beautiful building has been designated a National Historic Landmark and has been one of Bryn Mawr College’s most important spaces since it opened in 1902. A house of many colors… Declaration (Graff) House, Jefferson House Scaffolding

This is the house where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, that all important document that would birth a nation. Jefferson rented several rooms at the home of Jacob Graff, Jr, a local bricklayer - thus, the one of many names for this house. And what’s crazy is that it’s a reproduction! The original structure was built in 1775 and then torn down at some point. This red-brick house at Seventh and Market streets was reconstructed in 1975.
